“Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt, and poetry is painting that is felt rather than seen.” — Leonardo da Vinci
In this 6-week class we’ll experiment with ekphrastic poetry, a type of poetry that uses visual art as its primary inspiration, as we focus on potent imagery and using all the senses in creating poems. Each week, we’ll read and discuss poems, create ekphrastic poems, and participate in workshops. Students will learn how to offer attentive, closely considered feedback, practice live poetry readings in a safe, supportive environment, and learn some tips on submitting work to lit magazines and contests. Class will not be held on Wednesday, November 23rd.

*Please note: We have a no refund policy. Be sure to visit our CLASS FAQ and  COVID FAQ page for up to date information. If you are interested in financial assistance, apply for a Scholarship and wait for a response from our scholarship committee prior to registering here.
