Emily vonSwearingen

offers extensive experience of creating art programs and working within therapeutic arts. Her projects focus on arts expression for people with different physical, mental and developmental abilities through mixed-media and photography, often incorporating tactile forms of storytelling into her therapeutic approach to integrative based art making. Her diverse history includes founding the Artist in Residency program at the former Denver Children’s Hospital and collaborating with numerous organizations such as VSA Colorado/Access Gallery, the Colorado Center for the Blind, Colorado Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, Denver Public Library, DPS STAR program, Easter Seals, Denver Housing Authority, Jefferson Hills Mental Health Care, and Rocky Mountain Down Syndrome Association. Emily is also a non-profit consultant providing expertise in prospect research, grant writing, content review, network collaborations, organizational infrastructure, program design, curricula development, workshop facilitation and communications.
