Laurel Nook
is a Visual Arts teacher at Skinner Middle School and an artist. Her educational background includes a BA in Sociology and a K-12 Art Education Certification from Metropolitan State University-Denver. She has traveled to Guatemala to provide relief to schools in impoverished areas while bringing smiles to their faces through art and collaboration. While working on her art education license she taught Special Education and provided case management services for individuals who are differently abled.
She also enjoys collaborating with others for larger installations and will be working with the City of Denver and a visiting artist to create a mural at the Montbello Recreation Center this Spring.
Laurel believes art is for everyone and finds joy in sharing the art experience with individuals, groups and the greater Denver community.
