Acrylic Paint Pouring
June 13th (Wednesday ONLY 9:30am-12:30pm)
Acrylic Paint Pouring: Get ready to make your own vibrant abstract paintings that will amaze you! In this especially messy class artists will carefully layer multiple colors of acrylic paint, flip and rotate canvases to create their very own cellular, marble masterpieces. Acrylic pouring, although fairly simple in technique, creates complex and astounding organic shapes that continue to change as they move in every direction. Come watch paint drench your entire canvas and be astonished at this wonderfully unconventional method. Instructor and students will travel to off-site destination together with public transportation. Students will check in at start time and leave approximately 10 minutes after check in. Explore Denver: A Visual Journal
June 25th-29th (Monday-Friday, 9:30am-1:30pm)
Explore Denver: In this sketchbook workshop, artists will experience our beautiful city from multiple perspectives! Students will travel throughout the neighborhood to learn about local gems which include the Denver Nature and Science Museum, City Park, and more all while building important artistic skills of drawing and painting from life. Each day will focus on different subject matter including architecture, sculpture, fine art and more. Instructor and students will travel to off-site destination together with public transportation. Tempera Batik: My Selfie
July 15th (Sunday ONLY 10:00am-5:00pm)
Tempera Batik: My Selfie: Artists will combine portrait drawings with a process called tempera batik with blind contour drawings resulting in a beautiful masterpiece that will be uniquely you! Artists will working from a selfie to then fill in their shapes to create a colorful, expressive painting. Finally, they’ll complete the look with an India ink wash- which will result in the richly colored and antique finish that gives the process its name! REGISTER HERE!
Plein Air Painting
July 30- August 3rd (Monday-Friday 12:30pm-4:30pm)
Plein Air Painting: This week, we’ll leave the four walls of the studio behind and get up close and personal with the natural world. Class will travel off-site to locations around and near Denver to create drawings and watercolor paintings from the landscapes, plants and animals that we find there. Students will create studies and completed artworks and learn drawing and painting fundamentals. Painting locations include City Park, Denver Museum of Nature and Science, and the Denver Zoo throughout the week. Instructor and students will travel to off-site destination together with public transportation. Students will check in at start time and leave approximately 10 minutes after check in. Further itinerary and travel requirements will be emailed prior to class.
**Make sure to pack snack, water, and sun protection, small portable camping chairs are also recommended!

Paint Your Pet!
August 5th (Sunday ONLY 10:00am-5:00pm)
Paint Your Pet: Create a portrait of your most spoiled family member (furry or feathered)! Artists will advance their drawing and painting skills and vocabulary including scale, blending, underpainting, highlights, shadow and detail. Each student will take home a completed pet portrait on a 18”x24” professional stretched canvas.
August 6th-10th (Monday-Friday 4:30pm-6:30pm)
ART Garageband: In this class students will design and record their own art album. Using iPad’s students will create their own musical compositions using midi instruments as well as select instruments our instructor provides. Students will design their own album artwork, promo poster, and visualize the sounds they have created. Students will learn the basics of songwriting and music production along with the integration of visual imagery and how it relates to other art forms.
