May 13, 2020: Today's Activity!
HANNAH BEAN \ MAY 13, 2020
Today's project will blow you and your young artists away! All you need is bubble solution, paper, a cup, a straw, and paint or food coloring to create unique artwork using bubbles as your paintbrush. Start by mixing bubble solution with food coloring, liquid watercolor, or a little bit of acrylic or tempera paint in a cup. Next, put the cup in the center of a piece of paper and have your little ones blow through a straw that has its other end in the cup of bubble solution. Watch your little one's eyes light up as the bubbles pile up and spill out of the cup, creating cool patterns on the paper as they pop!
At The Art Garage, we love using a full page of blue bubble painting as a background for a mesmerizing underwater scene. Have your little artists draw, paint, or color fish, mermaids, seaweed, and treasure chests onto another piece of paper, cut them out, and glue them on top of dry bubble paintings to create amazing, aquatic artworks. You can also try using several different colors of bubble paints to create a beautiful tie-dye effect, moving your cup around your paper to create new patterns, and experimenting with popping bubbles or letting them pop on their own to see how their prints change!
If you don't have bubble solution at home, try this easy [DIY recipe](https://www.thesprucecrafts.com/make-your-own-bubble-blowing-mixture-1244214) from The Spruce Crafts! Don't forget to head outside to blow some bubbles with your leftover solution and share your beautiful bubble paintings with us on [Facebook](https://www.facebook.com/ArtGarageDenver/) and [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/artgaragedenver/?hl=en)!
