**Article: Ethical Art Collecting in the Internet Age**
"Ethics and art collecting should not be mutually exclusive. As museums prepare to return cultural artifacts to their countries of origin and restitution cases—including those stemming from the Holocaust—attempt to finally right historical wrongs, the topic of ethical art collecting has perhaps never been more urgently debated within the international art world."  Read it [HERE](https://www.artworkarchive.com/blog/ethical-art-collecting-in-the-internet-age?utm_source=newsletterclass&utm_campaign=ethical-art)!

**Joyous Book Club:** Monthly book recommendations from The Art Garage's Community Liaison\, Joy Giles
**Other Words for Home by Jasmine Warga**
For Arab American Heritage Month, I highly recommend this young adult story about a girl and her family. Jude and her mother have fled a war-stricken Syria to live with her uncle in Cincinnati, Ohio. Her father and brother have stayed behind - her father to take care of their family business and her brother to fight for justice for the Syrian people. Jasmine Warga beautifully wrote this book in free verse. It’s so easy to read and lets the reader into the life of a very brave girl and her family as she learns how to navigate a new country, school, language, and culture while still holding on to her own.

**Looking for More?**
Check out Syrian artist [Tammam Azzam](https://www.tammamazzam.com/), a mixed media artist who juxtaposes imagery between the conflicts of his homeland and pop culture, teetering between figurative and abstraction.

**Do you know of an artist who might like to be featured as our Artist of the Month?** Contact paige@artgaragedenver.com to submit a local artist!
