We do so by fostering a space that inspires, empowers and promotes creative self-expression and continuous learning about ourselves and others. With a commitment to equity and diversity, we strive to ensure accessibility to the arts and to amplify voices that have been systematically excluded. Thank you to those who participated and who were patient during this learning process. We recently opened up remaining spots to the public for registration. If you would like to be notified if and when a spot opens up in a class that is full, please sign up for the wait list by clicking on the gray "Alert Me" button on any camps you are interested in (you must be signed into your account). A banner will pop up at the top of your screen to confirm you were added. \#\#\# Featured Upcoming Classes: \*\*Summer Camps at Westerly Elementary:\*\* (8800 E 28th Ave, Denver, CO 80238) Monday, June 12th - Thursday, June 15th 8:30 - 3:30 pm Selfies, Grades K-2 Giant Masks, Grades 3-5 Portraits with Pizzaz, Grades 6-8 This class is open to the public, and not limited to Westerly Creek students. Artists will experiment with a variety of techniques and incorporate painting, drawing, collage, and more. We will look at examples of creative self portraits by famous artists and learn to express our personalities utilizing various artistic styles. Students will finish camp with a series of artworks celebrating their favorite artist: themselves! **`[Summer Camps at McGlone Elementary](`****[`https://artgaragedenver.com/courses?categories=59`](https://artgaragedenver.com/courses?categories=59)`)`:** (4500 Crown Blvd. Denver, 80239) 8:30am - 3:30pm Ages 5-8, 8-11 We are excited to offer these additional summer camps funded by Denver Office of Children's Affairs through the "Out of School Time Grant". These classes are open to the public, and not limited to McGlone students. Topics of classes include portraiture, modern Black artists, visual storytelling, costume and production design, multimedia art, and mural painting. Please note: This program is grant funded and attendance is required. Families will be refunded $5 per day attended on the last day of class, up to the full $20 tuition. \*\*Teen Ceramics June/July:\*\* Sundays, June 11th - July 23rd 1:00pm - 3:00pm This 6-week session is perfect for any skill level and will be structured to ensure you learn the aspects of hand building, wheel throwing, and glazing. Students will develop and grow their ceramic skills through techniques and projects led by our skilled instructor. \*\*Adult Ceramics June/July:\*\* Sundays, June 11th - July 23rd 4:00pm - 7:00pm This course is great for any beginner, intermediate, or advanced student. This 6-week session will be structured to ensure you learn the essential aspects of hand building, wheel throwing and glazing. Our skilled instructor will guide students as they develop and grow their ceramic techniques. \*\*Teen Mixed Media:\*\* Sundays, June 4th - June 25th 1:00pm - 3:00pm Using paint, paper, found objects, and various other materials, you will create amazing 2 and 3 dimensional compositions in this mixed media class! From unique, layered compositions on canvas to creating art journals and altered books, our instructor will spark your creative process by demonstrating a variety of techniques and guide you as you paint, print, glue, and sew your way to creating fantastic art pieces. Denver, 80221 June 4th, 1:00 - 3:00pm Party Two: The Botanical Bakery of Denver 2880 S. Broadway, Englewood, 80113 June 11th, 5:00pm "Surviving Peter Pan" is a collection of poetry that explores the lore of the classic J.M. Barrie novel through the glistening lens of feminism and motherhood. “This magical and terrifying collection, "Surviving Peter Pan" gazes back on childhood ideas of motherhood, marriage, and the story of "Peter Pan" then peels back the layers of this magical land of immortality and adventure to expose misogyny, abuse, and colonization: both in the original text of "Peter Pan" and in the hardships women endure day in and day out. Scholarships are based on financial need and demonstrated motivation. Applicants are expected to have transportation to and from class, to attend class regularly, and to fully participate in all class activities. Students' participation and attendance will be recorded and will be considered by The Art Garage administration in awarding future scholarships.
