Learn how to view the world around you through an artistic eye! This week, artists will learn introductory drawing and shading techniques as they study ways to capture 3D objects on paper. Calling all art-cheologists! We'll excavate images of ancient Egypt this week as we get inspired by everything from sphinxes to hieroglyphics. Artists will travel back in time to explore what it was like to live like an ancient Egyptian by the pyramids at Giza. Discover the playful side of surrealist art! Using games and prompts, students will explore the far reaches of their imaginations while learning about surrealist artists throughout history. We will discuss the history, style, and leaders of the surrealist movement as we explore our own surreal creations throughout the week.
