This class takes place at Hallett Academy (2950 Jasmine St, Denver, CO 80207). This class is open to the public, and not limited to Hallett students. Join us this week as we create artwork based off of an always available source of inspiration - Ourselves! We’ll use a variety of different reflective materials to analyze our features and to create our self portraits - from mirrors to aluminum foil, and even the backs of metal spoons! The week will culminate by creating a large scale self portrait designed and decorated to reflect our unique personalities! *Please note: This program is grant funded and attendance is required. Projects will include Frida Kahlo inspired portraits, symbolic silhouette collages, and underwater self portraits inspired by David Hockney! Students will discuss how different styles can be used to express different aspects of who they are and explore the many ways they can represent “Me!” This is sure to be a fun and engaging week! *Please note: This program is grant funded and attendance is required.
