Young artists will use all of their senses to create soft and beautiful artwork as they explore concepts of mindfulness in age-appropriate ways. Our inspiration this week will be from the mask making artists Kimmy Cantrell, Pablo Picasso and Sandra Silberzweig. First, students will choose an animal and use reference photos to inspire aspects of their mask creations. They will plan, design and create their masks with cardboard, mixed media textures and paint. Students will then use what they have learned from their animal masks and apply it to making unique large scale masks. Both masks will be ready to hang to brighten up your wall! *Please note: This program is grant funded and attendance is required.
