Nov 2019

Week of Nov 17 to Nov 23

Sun, Nov 24
6:30 pm- 8:30 pm
Description

The Art Garage’s "Mindful Art Space" invites artists looking for a calm, serene studio where they can work on their own personal art projects. Your enrollment contributes to the use of our studio only; all artists must bring their own materials. Non-consumable materials (such as paintbrushes, palettes, clay tools etc.) can be provided to you by one of our volunteers. Artists must respect the space, our materials and other artists. We want to ensure a safe space for all our artists to feel comfortable and create their art. If our volunteers find that you are not being respectful to others, the space, or materials you may be asked to not return to this group and effort will be made to find different program that is more suitable. **Please note** The Art Garage does not have additional storage space for work in progress. All artwork must be transported by the artist. Please call The Art Garage with any/all questions.

What’s your favorite color? In this class, we’ll explore the world of monochromatic painting and dive into the color wheel! We’ll learn how different colors evoke different emotions, how to make tints, tones, and shades, and find out for ourselves why monochromatic painting is such an important part of Contemporary Art. Lessons will be adapted appropriately for each age as teachers integrate this theme into their classes.

We will use a variety of experimental printmaking methods to create a bevvy of textures. We will then use our prints to cut, tear, and paste into new, abstract works we can then print overtop of, again! Lessons will be adapted appropriately for each age group as teachers integrate this theme into their classes.
