Be it a bedroom in Arles painted by Van Gogh or Mount Fuji captured by Hokusai, there is a long tradition of artists finding inspiration from the environments around them. In this class we will derive inspiration from the places we spend time in every day, including our beloved Denver, our homes and even The Art Garage! Artists will use drawing, painting and collage. Lessons are adapted to be age appropriate.

The Art Garage’s "Mindful Art Space" invites artists looking for a calm, serene studio where they can work on their own personal art projects. Your enrollment contributes to the use of our studio only; all artists must bring their own materials. Non-consumable materials (such as paintbrushes, palettes, clay tools etc.) can be provided to you by one of our volunteers. Artists must respect the space, our materials and other artists. We want to ensure a safe space for all our artists to feel comfortable and create their art. If our volunteers find that you are not being respectful to others, the space, or materials you may be asked to not return to this group and effort will be made to find different program that is more suitable. **Please note** The Art Garage does not have additional storage space for work in progress. All artwork must be transported by the artist. Please call The Art Garage with any/all questions.

Patterns can be found naturally in nature and they can also be man-made to show rhythm, structure and composition. In this class we will explore how the repetition of shapes, lines and colors can form compositional artwork and how the pattern of an object or theme can add bold visual elements. Artists will paint, collage and draw these patterns to create feathers, mountains or abstract designs.
