This unique class will examine our feelings and social development by merging storytelling, peer interaction and - of course - art! Students will explore how different colors and materials can make them feel different emotions, and will investigate how they feel before and after making art. Each day artists will create one process and one product based project inspired by stories with themes such as empathy, good manners, and the keys to being an overall healthy and happy individual! Some stories include Do Unto Otters, Rude Cakes, and Please Mr. Panda. Projects will use acrylics, pastels, watercolors, markers, and more!

This week will begin by crafting your very own creativity cap in order to come up with all of the things you can make for this summer class! This is a great opportunity for budding artists and inventors alike, as we make pieces of art that we can use. Projects will include bubble wands, stepping stones, and many more! Together we will build our our pendulum and then see how the movement of the swing creates patterns and designs. We will use popsicle sticks, buttons, beads and anything else we can think of to keep the creations coming!
