Description

Knitting is an art form that is not only beautiful but useful. In this class, students will begin with the basics before progressing to completing projects such as washcloths, scarves, hats, and even yarn dolls, called Peace Pals! Each student will leave this class with the knowledge to continue creating for years to come, including casting on, knit and purl stitches, yarn weights, and pattern reading. Every week we will learn about the history of fiber arts from around the world and how even new knitters can join in craftivism, or making crafts (in this case wearable art/warm knitwear) to help the world in significant ways. The final goal of this class is to establish a safe space, similar to original knitting circles, where makers come together to talk about their lives and make meaningful connections with others in their community. All skill levels are welcome, especially beginners. Class will not be held on Tuesday, November 23rd.

*Please note: We have a no refund policy. This class is scheduled to be in person. Be sure to visit our COVID FAQ page for up to date information.
