Description

From the Harlem Renaissance to the Black Arts Movement and beyond, African American artists have made an indelible mark on the history and style of art in America. This week, we will study historical black artists, the movements they worked within, and the ways that their art has influenced modern art. Students will take inspiration from artists such Alma Thomas, Aaron Douglas, Wadsworth Jarrell, and Lois Mailou Jones as as they create their own masterpieces that honor their styles and movements.
