Description

We are taking a step beyond the traditional summer camp t-shirt tie dye. 'Tie-dye' comes from various traditional forms of fabric dyeing from all over the world which we will learn about in this class. Throughout the week we'll talk about and practice Japanese shibori dyeing and West African indigo dyeing, and we will also be exploring both squirt bottle and immersion dyeing (in buckets). Finally, we will learn how to tie dye beautiful mandala patterns on fabric. Students will have a finished piece for each day that we work that they will be able to wear or use, and will leave with a new understanding of cultural movement and sharing through art work!
*Please note: We have a no refund policy. Be sure to visit our SUMMER FAQ  page for up to date information. If you are interested in financial assistance, apply for a Scholarship and wait for a response from our scholarship committee prior to registering here.
