This week, we will honor Juneteenth by celebrating and taking inspiration from influential black artists of the modern art movement. After looking at and discussing the work of artists such as Kehinde Wiley, Rashid Johnson, Faith Ringgold, and Jordan Casteel, students will create their own masterpieces inspired by the history, intention, and styles of these artists. Young artists will experiment with vibrant colors, collage, visual storytelling, and many materials as they learn new skills.
