Students will take inspiration from stories from around the world of magical and mysterious creatures to design their imaginary friends on paper and make them a reality using armatures, paper mache, paint, and found objects like beads and feathers.
Did you know that a coral is actually an animal? This week, we will learn about coral reef conservation and discover the incredible creatures that make up coral reefs and call them home. Students will explore the abundance of color, shape and texture these awe-inspiring ecosystems have to offer through 2D and 3D media like paint, clay, and even recycled materials.

Students will develop their storytelling, sculpting, and design skills as they conceive every aspect of their very own stop-motion animation film, beginning with designing and building their diorama sets, creating their model magic figurine actors, and generating scripts and action sequences. Students will learn the basics of Procreate while creating digital masterpieces and even design 3D objects that will later be printed on The Art Garage's own 3D Printer. We'll discuss how traditional art principles like balance, contrast, and pattern translate into the digital world as we experiment with layers, textures, and linework and become digital DaVincis.

Campers will bring back fabric and yarn arts with macrame and punch needling, try their hands at making a unique velvet painting from scratch, and you bet we will make pet rocks!
