COVID-19 Summer Reopening Response

Please contact The Art Garage by June 15th if you would like to request a change to a summer camp you are registered for:  303-377-2353 or you can email us at [](<br> <br> <span class="colour" style="color:rgb(64, 64, 64)">**STAFF SCREENING**</span> <span class="colour" style="color:rgb(64, 64, 64)">Staff will be health-screened daily using recommended screening protocol from the CDC or state Health Department.  Daily temperature checks will be taken for each staff member.</span> <span class="colour" style="color:rgb(64, 64, 64)">**STUDENT SCREENING**</span> <span class="colour" style="color:rgb(64, 64, 64)">During the pre-camp phone call from The Art Garage, staff will ask pre-screening health questions and go over other pre-camp preparation. An initial health-screening check will also occur for students upon arrival at camp on their first day. Temperature checks will be completed daily for each child. </span> <span class="colour" style="color:rgb(64, 64, 64)">**CLASS SIZE**</span> <span class="colour" style="color:rgb(0, 0, 0)">Students will be in a group of a maximum size of 10 students and 2 staff.  Some classrooms may divide into two groups of 5 students and 1 staff.  We will be having combined age groups in an effort to keep households/siblings together. Parents will receive phone calls ASAP from our staff working to combine siblings into the same class. </span> <span class="colour" style="color:rgb(64, 64, 64)">**PICK UP & DROP OFF**</span> <span class="colour" style="color:rgb(64, 64, 64)">Parents and guardians picking up and dropping off students will need to wear masks and keep at least 6 feet distant from staff, other parents, and other students. We will be doing a staggered pick up and drop off and we will be emailing parents ASAP about their pick up/drop off time. </span> <span class="colour" style="color:rgb(64, 64, 64)">Parent/Guardians will <u>**not**</u> be permitted inside of the building.  If you have not been to The Art Garage and would like to set up a visit, please email []( and we can find a time outside of summer class hours for you and your child to come by and visit the space.</span> <span class="colour" style="color:rgb(64, 64, 64)">**For drop off:** after signing your child/ren in (outside of the fence area by the blue Tuff Shed right of the building) parents will walk their child into the outside fenced area to their classroom’s drop off station; ‘See you Later Alligator’ or ‘After A while Crocodile’.  After you hug, high five, kiss and/or fist bump and say your goodbye our staff will assist them in finding the location for their snack/lunch and their art bin for the week and help them settle in! </span> <span class="colour" style="color:rgb(64, 64, 64)">On the first day of camp your child/family was assigned a number.  This number will be needed for pick up. When you arrive**for pick up**, please go to the gate by the Tuff Shed and wait in a line on one of our designated circles to respect social distancing. We will walk your children out to their pick up person after you inform staff. Parents for pick up will not be able to come inside the fenced area or building. We will be encouraging students to use the restroom before pick up. </span> <span class="colour" style="color:rgb(64, 64, 64)">**PHYSICAL DISTANCING**</span> <span class="colour" style="color:rgb(64, 64, 64)">Staff and students will make their best efforts to maintain a physical distance of 6 feet between one another. There are times when staff or students will need to be physically closer. During these times, staff and students will wear masks and gloves.  If students have trouble with drop off, our staff will talk with their adult about how they are comfortable with our staff assisting and comforting their child. </span> <span class="colour" style="color:rgb(64, 64, 64)">**PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT**</span> <span class="colour" style="color:rgb(64, 64, 64)">It is mandatory that all staff wear masks.  Masks are required for all students and camp participants whenever possible. Staff will wear gloves during any time providing medical support.  Staff will take breaks independently away from the students for lunch and break time. </span> <span class="colour" style="color:rgb(64, 64, 64)">Please send your child with a clean mask they will be most comfortable in for the day.  Your child will need to come with a mask.  This mask has been recommended by some of our families with young children: </span>[<span class="colour" style="color:rgb(17, 85, 204)"><u></u></span>]( <span class="colour" style="color:rgb(64, 64, 64)">and you can watch more about the details of the mask performance here:</span> [<span class="colour" style="color:rgb(17, 85, 204)"><u></u></span>](<span class="colour" style="color:rgb(64, 64, 64)"> </span> <span class="colour" style="color:rgb(64, 64, 64)">We will have some of these on site for a suggested donation of $9. </span> <span class="colour" style="color:rgb(64, 64, 64)">**HYGIENE AND ART MATERIALS**</span> <span class="colour" style="color:rgb(64, 64, 64)">Instructors and students will follow a stringent hand washing protocol every day.  Each student will have their own pre-prepared bin of art supplies that they will use through the week.  These will be items only to be used by that student. Materials and bins will be disinfected daily. Additional materials not included in their bin will be used and disinfected pre and post use. Staff will sanitize materials before and after use.</span> <span class="colour" style="color:rgb(64, 64, 64)">Please send your child in clothes they can be messy in.  Not all paint used during our camps will come out of clothing. Clean (though previously used) smocks will be available if you choose to have your child wear one or you can send them with their own smock. We have added a washer and dryer onsite to allow us a constant and efficient cycle of sanitized smocks.</span> <span class="colour" style="color:rgb(64, 64, 64)">**RESPONSE**</span> <span class="colour" style="color:rgb(64, 64, 64)">If a child becomes ill during the day, they will be isolated from the group and be with one of our staff or administration within sight of others until a parent or emergency contact can pick them up. If a student or staff member has had known contact with someone who has tested positive we will ask them to not attend camp and the staff member or student to self quarantine for at least 14 days. If a staff member or student tests positive for Covid-19, the programs during that time period will discontinue and the staff member will be asked to self quarantine for 14 days while an additional and extensively thorough clean of The Art Garage is completed. Any positive cases will be reported to the health department. If at any time we do not feel we are able to provide the safest possible programming, we will close.</span> <span class="colour" style="color:rgb(64, 64, 64)">Please contact The Art Garage as soon as possible if your child has special needs or is in need of specific accommodations so we can work out how to best support them along with all of our students.</span> <span class="colour" style="color:rgb(64, 64, 64)">If you have additional questions please reach out to us at []( or call us at 303-377-3453.
