Students will practice the art of reusing the “ghosts of our consumption” and turning them into something unique and beautiful in this 3D class. Using recycled, found and junk materials we will experiment with a variety of sculptural techniques to express ourselves and keep objects from the landfill at the same time. Students will learn about artists like Tara Donavan and Yuken Teruya who transform recycled materials as they explore the possibilities in unconventional materials like pipe cleaners, paper tubes, straws, cardboard, and more!
