Each day, we will experiment with new materials and techniques to transform your book from run-of-the-mill into an extraordinary work of art! On the first day of class, artists will search through recycled books and choose one to alter throughout the week. Students will take inspiration from artists like Sabrina Ward Harrison and Dan Eldon Creative and use creative prompts from our instructor as jumping off points into the artistic process. Students will use gesso, watercolor, acrylic paint, collage, pen and ink, and typography as we draw coded design messages, build secret compartments, add pop-outs, and turn our books from drab to fab!
